The short answer

One ticket covers metro, trams and buses. Buy it in the PID Lítačka app (36 CZK for 30 minutes) and activate it before you board.

One ticket for metro, tram and bus
Metro, trams and buses all take the same ticket. The Petřín funicular takes only 24 and 72 hour tickets.
Activate before you board
An app ticket starts 1 minute after you tap Activate, so tap it before you get on or go into the metro. Stamp a paper ticket right away.
No turnstiles, but random checks
Inspectors in plain clothes check tickets and fine 1,500 CZK if you have none. Ask to see their badge.
